Brighton boss Fabian Herzeler hailed his side’s “fantastic” second-half display as they came from two goals down to beat Spurs 3-2.

“In the first half, we conceded two goals that had nothing to do with tactics.”

“We played with intensity, we played with energy, that was the main thing, that’s what I had to get back at half-time. It’s the players’ job, they played fantastic in the second half and did well enough to win.”

On the team’s confidence: “I think it’s a little lacking. Ruthlessness is the most important thing. In duels we’re not decisive enough. And if you win individual duels and get the ball into the opponent’s half, you’ll have confidence in yourself. That’s the biggest change.”

“Tottenham had some good moments but we mostly controlled the counter-attack,”

“I always say, ‘We have enough quality to score goals all the time. It’s important to learn from the first half.”

Speaking of the attacking players, “In every team, it is important to have players with individual quality. The four players in front. They should not define themselves by their individual quality, they should define themselves by their work for the team.”

“I’m happy for them, they worked hard and they deserve it,”

On Danny Welbeck: “He’s got a lot of freedom. He looks like a young man, he’s in good physical shape and he looks after himself.”

“He’s a role model for young players. It’s impressive to be playing in the Premier League at his age.”

“I enjoyed working with him. He is a top-level professional and ยูฟ่าเบท many young players should see how hard he works and see the possibilities of a professional football career.”
