Radio station Franz Info reported that two women, aged 19 and 20, had accused Ben Yedder and his brother of forcing them to engage in sexual activity after a night out.

Nice’s public prosecutor told AFP on Thursday that Monaco striker Wissam Ben Yedder was being investigated following allegations of rape. The incident took place on Monday in the Côte d’Azul in the town of Bousole, north of Monaco.

Public prosecutor Xavier Bonhomme confirmed “the existence of two allegations of rape, from two victims, targeting two people.

“We don’t know who the second person concerned is,” he added.

Ben Yedder, 32, made the last of his 19 France appearances in June 2022 and was present earlier this  month as Monaco started pre-season training.

His club issued a statement declaring: “Monaco became aware of the information published today involving Wissam Ben Yedder.

“There are two rape allegations from two victims, aimed at two people. We still don’t know who the second person involved is,” he added. Ben Yedder, 32, made his last 19 appearances for France in June 2022 as he prepares for pre-season with his club.

Monaco released a statement saying: “FC Monaco are aware of the information publish. Today regarding Wissam Ben Yedder. In April, Ben Yeder was convicted

by a Spanish court of tax evasion during his time at Sevilla.
